Terms of Service

Welcome to Vanderlust. By using our mobile application ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Vanderlust. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

2. Your Account

You sign in with your Apple or Google account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Vanderlust account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile, including your age
  • Use your own photos and not impersonate anyone
  • Keep your Apple or Google account secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You can browse Discover without an account. To wave, like, chat, or appear on the map, you need to sign in.

3. Acceptable Use

When using Vanderlust, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Share content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
  • Use the App for commercial solicitation or spam
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape data or interact with the App
  • Share explicit or inappropriate content
  • Use the App to track or locate another person against their will

4. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you add to Vanderlust, such as your profile photos, bio, vehicle details, and messages. By adding content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and distribute it within the App for the purpose of operating the service, including showing your profile to other users and, in reduced form, to people browsing Discover without an account.

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.

5. Location Sharing

Your exact position is never shown to other users by default. The map shows other users only a count of travelers per area. You may choose to share your position with connections you have accepted. You can turn this off at any time, and you are responsible for deciding who you share it with. Do not share your position with people you do not trust.

6. Safety & Community

Vanderlust is a community built on trust and respect. We expect all users to treat each other with kindness. We have zero tolerance for harassment, abuse, or disrespect. Every profile can be reported and every user can be blocked, and reports are reviewed by a person. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our community standards, without notice and without refund.

When meeting other users in person, always prioritize your safety. Meet in public places and let someone know your plans. Vanderlust does not run background checks on its users.

7. Vanderlust Pro

Vanderlust is free to use. Vanderlust Pro is an optional subscription that adds features such as unlimited swipes, seeing who waved at you or liked you, and unlimited stops in the route planner. The following applies to Pro:

  • Pro is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and is subject to their terms.
  • The price and any free trial are shown before you subscribe. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when the trial ends or the purchase is confirmed.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel the subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
  • We may change the price of Pro. Any change applies to the next renewal, and you will be notified in advance as required by the store.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.

9. Intellectual Property

The Vanderlust name, logo, and App design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our App without permission.

10. Disclaimers

Vanderlust is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • That the App will be available at all times without interruption
  • The accuracy of information provided by other users, including their location
  • The behavior or intentions of other users you interact with

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vanderlust shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including anything that happens when you meet other users in person.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the App. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
